What do you need to run your own: Really all you need is a space and a time and get the word out that you'll be there. It's encouraged that you have an Internet connection and some speakers for live streaming but if you want to have a meetup at a restaurant and not do a livestream, that's OK, too. While you can do (and has been done before) a meetup at your home, please be careful about publishing your home address on the World Weird Web. You can also send an invitation through Evite (gives you RSVPs and a list to send invitations to for the next event) and set up a mailing list through Google Groups or Yahoo Groups.
